Westminster Road [4-9-20]

At approximately 05:25 hours on the morning of Thursday, April 9th, 2020 the South Hempstead Fire Department was called to a house fire on Westminster Road off Rose Lane. On the initial phone alarm South Hempstead received one engine and one ladder from Baldwin [automatic mutual aid]. South Hempstead Chief of Department Chuck Sadler [7400], one of the first units to arrive on scene, transmitted the signal ten [working fire]. Firefighters battled fire on the first and second floors of the home as well as in the attic. South Hempstead Engine 741 and Baldwin Ladder 207 were the first engine and truck companies to arrive on scene. Among the departments mutual aided to the scene was Roosevelt, Uniondale, Hempstead, and West Hempstead. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. At least one firefighter was treated for unspecified injuries by medical personnel. All fire department units were under the command of South Hempstead Chief of Department Chuck Sadler [7400].
