Lynbrook Engine 421 Wetdown [11-21-21]

On the afternoon of Sunday, November 21st, 2021, Lynbrook Engine Company No. 1 held a dedication and wet down ceremony for the new Engine 421 at their firehouse on Carpenter Avenue. The 2021 Spartan replaces the Company’s 2003 Seagrave and pays homage to not only its predecessor but in some way all the Engine Company One rigs that came before it. Lynbrook Ex-Chief John O’Reilly began the program with opening remarks and was followed by Deacon McCormack who gave the invocation and First Lieutenant Sean Hynes who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Company Captain Tachiera, Chief of Department Donald, Mayor Beach, Ex-Chief Pearsall, Assemblywoman Griffin, and Councilman D’Esposito all spoke a few words. Several departments from within the Fourth Battalion and beyond were on hand for the event. Most notable about the event was that the Company’s 1927 Ahrens-Fox was present and assisted in the wet down. The best of luck to Lynbrook Engine Company No. 1 with their new apparatus.
