In the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, the East Meadow Fire Department was called to a Hull Street house fire with people possibly trapped. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with heavy fire showing from the rear of a two-story private dwelling leading to the transmission of a signal ten [working fire]. Within the first few minutes of the operation, it was confirmed that all occupants were out of the residence [later all searches came up negative]. Firefighters stretched and operated three hand lines – all off East Meadow Engine 612. North Bellmore was designated the FAST. One firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
