Juniper Road [6-16-20]

On the night of Tuesday, June 16th, 2020 the Port Washington Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Juniper Road off Cambridge Avenue in the Manorhaven section of their district. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a two-story private dwelling. Moments later a signal ten [working fire] was transmitted for fire on the second floor of the residence. Roslyn was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Highlands Heavy Rescue 591. Also called to the scene was a ladder from Great Neck Vigilants. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. The scene was placed under control within twenty-five minutes. Units from Williston Park and Albertson stood by for Port Washington during the operation. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Port Washington Chief of Department Thomas Golden [8500].
