West Chester Street [5-20-19]

Late on the night of Monday, May 20th, 2019 Long Beach firefighters operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on West Chester Street off National Boulevard. The fire was called in by Long Beach Engine 2343 who was returning from a previous alarm. The main body of fire was located on the first floor of a two and a half story private dwelling. Two hand lines were stretched with one line put into operation resulting in a quick knockdown of the fire. All occupants made it safely out of the home and there were no reported injuries. Oceanside, Inwood, and Lawrence Cedarhurst were among the departments called to standby for Long Beach during the operation. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Long Beach Second Assistant Chief Ray [231B].
