The Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on the afternoon of Sunday, February 24th, 2019. The main body of fire was in the electrical panel and meter on the number four side of a two-story private dwelling on Royat Street off Lido Boulevard. The fire burned upwards on the exterior of the house; however, after checking the second floor there was no extension inside. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation resulting in the fire being quickly knocked down. Mutual aid was called from Long Beach, Baldwin, and Oceanside. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Point Lookout-Lido Chief of Department Brian Guerin .
