Hollyberry Road [7-14-19]

At 02:19 hours on the morning of Sunday, July 14th, 2019 the Plainview Fire Department was called to a house fire on Hollyberry Road off Knickerbocker Road South. As fire department units began responding they were advised by Plainview fire dispatch that Nassau County Police were on scene with smoke in the house. The first chief to arrive on scene reported heavy smoke showing. Upon further investigation a fire was found in the attic of the home. Mutual aid was requested with Syosset sending an engine to the scene and Farmingdale sending a ladder. Per the request of Plainview command, the house was backfilled with standby units. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation to extinguish the fire. One occupant from the home was evaluated by medical personnel though their injuries did not appear to be serious. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
