East Park Avenue [11-12-17]

At 02:39 hours on the morning of Sunday, November 12th, 2017 the Long Beach Fire Department was dispatched to an automatic alarm at 622 East Park Avenue off Neptune Boulevard. When the first fire department units arrived on scene they were met with smoke showing from a one story dental office. After making their way into the building to investigate firefighters were met with a heavy smoke condition throughout and a fire in the attic. At this time a working fire was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Island Park was designated the FAST and responded with Ladder 223 while Oceanside, Point Lookout-Lido, and Lawrence Cedarhurst were among those standing by. Long Beach Engine 2343 was the first engine to arrive on scene and had two hand lines stretched with one going into operation. Firefighters made a quick knockdown of the fire and all searches were negative. There were no reported injuries and all fire department units were under the command of Long Beach Chief of Department Joseph Miller [231].
