Cayuga Avenue [3-24-19]

On the morning of Sunday, March 24th, 2019 firefighters operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] at a home on Cayuga Avenue in the North Bellmore fire district. Multiple hand lines were put into operation to extinguish the fire. Among the departments mutual aided to the scene were Levittown, East Meadow, and Bellmore. Standing by for North Bellmore during the operation was an engine from Uniondale, a ladder from Wantagh, and an ambulance from North Merrick. All occupants in the home made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire appears to have started in a detached garage and auto exposed to the house – a two story private dwelling. All fire department units were under the command of North Bellmore Chief of Department George Serviss [6500].
